Many classic features remain in Madden 23 on both offense and defense. One button though that everyone loves to hit is the speed boost control, AKA sprint. There is no denying that it is a great way to race down the field and add some distance between you and the defenders. However, there are perfect times to use it and not-so-good times to hit it. How to Speed Boost in Madden 23
You got the ball in your hands and you want to race away from the many defenders encroaching on your space. So, what do you do? You sprint away. The only way to get that quick speed boost is to hit the sprint control button in Madden 23.
Here are the individual ways each platform can use the sprint feature:
- PC: Hold Right Mouse Button or L-Shift
- PlayStation: Hold R2
- Xbox: Hold RT
The sprint control is such a classic staple in Madden games that it simply makes sense to know how to use it. The real test comes in knowing when to use it.
Tips for Using the Speed Boost in Madden 23
Players, especially new ones, may feel tempted to use the speed boost early in Madden 23. In fact, some even press the right button immediately after getting their hands on the ball.
However, slow down for a moment and think about it. The second you sprint burst, the AI will pick up on you quicker too. If you’re still behind the line of scrimmage, you’ve painted a larger target on you and can find yourself taken down faster than you know it.
What you want to do is time your speed boost in Madden 23 right. Look for that opening after the snap, and when you see it, press the sprint control to pick up speed and break through it for some big yard gains. If you’r already down the field following a catch, use the speed boost to create more distance between you and the defenders.
Like with any other running move, timing is everything.
