Legendary singer Madonna survived a health scare and is now recovering after several days in ICU. According to the reports, Madonna was hospitalized last week after developing a serious bacterial infection. The infection prompted her admission into ICU, where she spent several days. The health complication ultimately puts a dent in her touring schedule for the year.
Madonna Was Hospitalised Following a Bacterial Infection
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the crooner’s talent manager and producer Guy Oseary announced the disturbing development. In his post, he confirmed the star’s health scare, which played out on Saturday, June 24. He proceeded with an update on the progress of her health since her hospitalization, noting she was out of danger. The post read partly,
“Her health is improving. However, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”
The post stirred panic among fans of the iconic singer. Many feared the worst, taking to social media to wish her a speedy recovery. A source later confirmed to People that Madonna was finally out of the Intensive Care Unit and on the verge of recovery.
Madonna’s Tour Cancelled Amid Health Crisis
Despite her recovery progress so far, Madonna’s team deems it best for her to slow down, for now, to focus on her health. In his statement, the 64-year-old’s talent manager announced the need to halt all her professional commitments. This decision would also affect her long-anticipated Celebration World Tour, slated for next month.
The tour, which would commemorate the fortieth anniversary of her showbiz career, would commence at a later date. New scheduling details, including the tour’s commencement date and rescheduled show dates, are not available yet. Additionally, all the specifics about Madonna’s bacterial infection remain unknown.
This isn’t the first time the singer would cancel her tour and show lineup due to a health issue. In 2020, the crooner was forced to cancel several commitments during her Madame X tour on the North American leg. Unlike her latest health scare, which hospitalized her with a bacterial infection, Madonna’s previous health issue involved a hip replacement following an on-stage injury during the tour. She made a big comeback in 2021, letting fans in on the painful surgery and the ordeal she underwent to lead her back to the stage once again.
