Fans finally get to know how Madonna and Akeem Morris became an item thanks to a scorned ex. Although the Vogue singer’s love for younger men is no news, 27-year-old Reagan Rice didn’t think her ex-boyfriend will be one of the chosen ones. Now, she is spilling the tea on how Madonna seemingly swooped in and took her man.
Rice poured out her heart in an interview with People Magazine, saying seeing her ex move on with one of the biggest pop stars was quite jarring. “It’s such a weird thing,”she confessed. “I found out with the rest of the world when they went public on social media.” Despite the shock, Rice says she had an idea when Morris and Madonna’s romance was brewing and she was still in the picture. A year into their relationship, Rice claims Morris began working for the Material Girl songstress as a caretaker for one of her children. By August of that year, he was featured alongside Madonna in Paper Magazine cover and shortly after they broke up. Rice said of the sudden switch:
“I’ve seen where he came from. Very humble beginnings in a really poor part of Jamaica. And obviously, now he’s going to Portofino, Italy, living in an estate, doing all these things dressed head-to-toe in designer, which is great for him.”

Although Rice and Morris gave it another shot, they ultimately broke up in September 2023. However, the Marketing director didn’t let go. “I held out hope for a long, long time,” she told the publication. “But it wasn’t until seeing the proof and the picture of them on the 4th of July… that was the final nail in the coffin.”

I do have so much love for him. He was a great partner to me for the time we were together, so no ill will towards him.”
