Her decision suggests she has a close bond with her parents, and Madonna has spoken about Lourdes with great affection in previous interviews. “I’m green with envy because she’s incredible at everything she does – she’s an incredible dancer, she’s a great actress, she plays the piano beautifully, she’s way better than me in the talent department,” the singer told British Vogue in 2019.
Madonna also commented on the pressure Lourdes faces as her daughter. “I feel social media plagues her and makes her feel like, ‘People are going to give me things because I’m her daughter,’” she explained. “I try to give her examples of other children of celebrities like Zoë Kravitz, for instance, who have to work through that ‘Oh yeah, you’re the daughter of…’ – and then eventually you are taken seriously for what you do. You just have to keep going.”

Lourdes Leon is also close to her dad, and the fashion show was actually a time for them to hang out. The pair were later photographed together as they faced the cameras and smiled.
Lourdes’s attendance at the event makes sense because she is interested in fashion and even produced a Material Girl clothing line for juniors in 2010 (along with her mama) as part of a collaboration with Macy’s Herald Square in New York.
