These days, people threaten to call ICE on immigrants the way children in kindergarten scream for their homeroom teachers when they do not get exactly what they want the moment they want it. A MAGA man in Utah threatened to call immigration officers on a group of people over a gym dispute. “I’m going to call ICE,” the man wearing a black Alligator Alcatraz shirt said, smirking, with the ICE logo showing on his phone in a video posted on X.
The clip seemed to have captured just the tail-end of the dispute, with someone asking what his calling ICE would accomplish. “Just turn them in,” the MAGA supporter responded, obviously excited by what he was saying. “Then you guys would have to figure out who’s legal and who’s not,” he concluded. Just before the clip ended, the voices of the immigrants could be heard, communicating in Spanish.
As expected, netizens wasted no time storming the comments to call out the MAGA man. “I think what creeps me out the most is how much fun that guy is having. Like, when did terrorizing people become entertainment?” one X user asked, and then concluded, “And yes, I know it’s not exclusive to him. The entire genre really creeps me out.” Another one wrote, “He called ICE because he didn’t want to wait a few minutes for a treadmill? How stupid can one be?”
A few people saw a bigger picture. “White men are the most fragile thing on this planet,” one stated. Another wrote, “Anyone wearing an Alligator Alcatraz sweatshirt out in public deserves an [Expeltive] whoopin’.” Someone penned sarcastically, “Some people go to the gym to lift weights. Others go to lift their own paranoia.” While another wrote, “Imagine minding your business, being a U.S citizen, and some dude in an alligator sweatshirt decides you’re deportable. People just want to work out, not defend their citizenship.”
One user pointed out, “He has the ICE app on his phone? I’d bet he’s reported others he dislikes. Guy is not white? Phone ICE. Guy cuts me off in traffic? Call ICE.” Another one likened people like the guy to children: “These entitled racists act like vindictive adolescents, the kind that tattletale on you if they get their feelings hurt. Exhausting little vampires.”
A last user said, “The gym should immediately revoke his membership and inform him he’s no longer welcome; please leave & we will call the police as you will be trespassing.” A similar encounter took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, where a Karen decided to get creative with her xenophobia, turning it into a rap song.
The NerdStash reported that the entire thing started when a Hispanic worker parked beside her. “I said ICE is on your [expletive] like [expletive] white is on [expletive] rice baby. It wasn’t just White folks that want ya’ll gone, we want ya’ll the [expletive] outta here. I said rapido, back to Mexico!” she rapped.
