Minecraft fans rejoice! An update is incoming for the console versions and it is the biggest in quite some time. Title Update 31 includes new mobs, biomes, tools, blocks and mechanics.
The update will effect all console versions of Minecraft including Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PS Vita. All of the new features are already available in the PC version but will be warmly welcomed by Minecraft’s console community.
The update will feature new mobs such as Endermites, Guardians, Elder Guardians, Rabbits, and Chicken Jockeys. New biomes include Mega Taiga, Roofed Forest, Savanna, Birch Forest, Deep Ocean, Snowless Taiga, Ice Spikes and a few others. New underwater Ocean Monuments can be found in the sea if players are willing to take the plunge.
A handful of new blocks are being introduced which includes; Podzol, Granite, Polished Granite, Andesite, Polished Andesite, Diorite, Polished Diorite, Prismarine, Dark Prismarine, Prismarine Bricks, Red Sand, Red Sandstone, Smooth Red Sandstone, Chiseled Red Sandstone, Red Sandstone Stairs, Red Sandstone Slab, Sea Lanterns, Wet Sponge, Slime Blocks, Coarse Dirt, Packed Ice, Acacia Saplings, Dark Oak Saplings.
Other new features include new fishing mechanics. You will now see trails of bubbles leading to your rod and you may catch treasure. Villagers can now breed, when encouraged to, and skeletons are now afraid of wolves! They love their tasty bones.

Allegedly the patch was submitted on December 9th and, according to Eurogamer, the patch should be “live shortly”.
