One man realized the consequences of his own actions after diving headfirst into a turbulent canal with no way out. It’s good that the video was posted to Reddit.
The video depicts a man standing at the edge of what appears to be a pier overlooking a canal. When the person recording pans over to the canal, you can see that it’s rather turbulent and not fit for swimming. However, the man standing at the edge continuously asks the cameraman if he should jump until he finally dives in.
It all seems like fun and games at first, but as you see the man struggling to stay afloat in the canal, things turn. You can hear the people behind the camera joking about how the man is going to die until they start to believe that it might actually happen. The video ends with the cameramen looking for a rope to pull the man out, but you don’t know if it ends up happening.
The replies are filled with comments acknowledging that the people behind the camera and the man who dove in should have taken this more seriously. You could see how hard the waves were just by looking at it.

Hopefully, the man was pulled out to safety after the video ended. I also hope that the man never thinks to do something like this again. I don’t know how many times in your life you can survive swimming against turbulent waves while completely clothed. However, this is definitely something he’ll never forget.
