Shark RPG Maneater is out now on consoles and PC. First announced during The Game Awards, Maneater lets you hunt and survive as a deadly shark.

At the start of the game, you are a young shark who must learn to adapt and survive in unforgiving waters. Feeding on humans and finding special shark loot will help you evolve into a stronger and more dangerous shark.

Those hoping for a more grounded experience might need to look elsewhere. Maneater has a more comedic tone, and the different shark evolutions are more outlandish than the next.

The game is set in the Gulf Coast, with seven different environments to explore and hunt. Whether it is a resort beach or the open ocean, there is plenty of space to swim and find your fun.

As you progress through the game, you will unlock new abilities to enhance your abilities.

Hunting humans will cause them to notice you and put a bounty on your head. Soon hunters will be after you, ranging from small-time hunters in small boats to large coast guard forces.

Outside of hunting humans, you can swim and explore different underwater areas to find special shark loot to upgrade your shark.

Evolve, Hunt and Survive to Fight Humans

The game does have a story, which is set around a new reality television show. To accompany the story, it is narrated by Archer and Rick and Morty actor Chris Parnell.

For those that pre-ordered Maneater, it comes with a special Tiger Shark adaptation.

Maneater is available now for $39.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Epic Games Store. Those hoping to take the shark action on the go on the Nintendo Switch will have to wait until later this year.

To learn more about Maneater, go to the game’s official site.
