Margot Robbie has been at work constantly, and after Babylon, she was exhausted. In an interview with Wall Street Journal, she talked about how she was “shattered” after filming Babylon, the 1920s Hollywood epic by La La Land director and writer Damien Chazelle.
In part, the feeling came from her other films with Barbie and Amsterdam that were shot back-to-back with Babylon, but the other side was that Margot Robbie had never put so much work into a role before as a new actress on the Hollywood scene, Nellie LaRoy.
“I’ve never worked that hard in my life. [I was] shattered by the end of that job,” she said. It says a lot when looking at her filmography, from the intense choreography seen in her films as Harley Quinn to the emotional and physical requirements for I, Tonya. In the years since she ballooned into a huge star in the film industry from 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street, she has found a wide range of roles in various genres.

To the Australian star, there is something behind this work ethic. She called herself a “masochist” who could “always find a fifth gear.”
From Chazelle’s work on La La Land and Whiplash, his latest film is already getting Oscar buzz before its December 23 release. While he has always pulled big names to his work, it has been significantly smaller compared to the upcoming epic. Babylon will star Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Jean Smart, Eric Roberts, Samara Weaving, Jean Smart, Tobey Maguire, Jeff Garlin, and more.
Originally, the film was set to release on Christmas for limited showings and then go everywhere on January 6. Its date was moved in October to have a wide theatrical run right away rather than delaying its open net for audiences.
