Mariah Carey is getting body-shamed as users mock her New Year’s photos on Instagram. The singer, 55, made headlines ahead of the clock striking midnight this week for her Aspen, CO, vacation, but she was back in the news for her low-cut party dress, which she wore to ring in the New Year.
While many comments left on Mariah‘s photos over recent months have noted her weight loss, seen above, this crowd seemed intent on bullying her. Users on The Daily Mail accused the Grammy winner of having implants, with a particularly cruel comment mocking her “flotation devices.” Unfortunately, the remark gained likes.

All smiles as she posed by a lit-up Christmas tree and holiday decorations, Mariah glanced upward, showing off her signature jazzy style as she rocked a tiny sparkly minidress.
Displaying her slimmed-down waistline, the mom of two wore a sleeveless tan and silver dress, opting for a low neckline and figure-hugging finish. Going paneled for a defined waistline look, Mariah added festive sparkle from rhinestone studding all over her dress, flashing her shapely legs while wearing her hair down and curled.
Looking far younger than her years, the pop sensation wore a chunky diamond necklace and “Happy New Year” tiara, plus a heavy face of makeup complete with plenty of mascara. She shared a total of three photos, all showing her in a similar setting. In a caption, she wrote: “Happy New Year!!!!!!”
Getting Nasty Comments Over Skimpy Look
While the post has now topped 400,000 likes, it’s also attracted nasty remarks. Users on The Daily Mail mocked Mariah, with one aggressively shaming her as they referred to her “flotation devices.” Further users also inferred that the singer’s chest is surgically enhanced, although Mariah herself has never admitted to going under the knife.
Over 140 users liked a cruel remark reading: “This article reminds me, I must add cantaloupes to the shopping list.”
“She’s had implants for years,” another said. Sending out some positivity amid the shaming, a separate fan replied: “She is older than me but looks at least 10 years younger. I have to admire that she is at least talented and hasn’t forced her kids on us from a young age.”
