Proposals are always meant to be memorable, but one man’s marriage proposal to his celebrity girlfriend from Georgia was perhaps the most daring of them all. That’s because the man decided to propose marriage to his partner on top of a rather strong waterfall, and wouldn’t you know it, the current took him down and swept him off his feet, which was probably not the plan nor the target of the feet-sweeping. Georgia citizen Jemini Powell uploaded the video, and if you don’t know her, she’s a stunt actress for the Black Panther movies of the MCU. She also plays one of the fierce and elite members of the Dora Milaje, or the Black Panther’s bodyguards. The proposal footage itself was captured by one of her friends and likely a trusty wingman of Powell’s partner, JB (J-Bizzle aka Jaryn).
JB’s surprise was to present the ring and the marriage proposal near the edge of the waterfall– which was fitting since his partner is a stunt actress. Gotta impress that Wakandan in her. Sadly, JB slipped and fell into the waterfall, getting dragged by the current while his friend could only yell for him out of concern. Though to JB’s friend’s credit, he was a good cameraman, “I loved that the camera guy stayed on him the whole time 😂💀,” praised one Instagram user.
Seeing as Jemini Powell is now making fun of the proposal fail while also keeping it close to her heart, the man was likely fine and ready to follow through with the marriage. Sadly, JB lost the ring after he slipped and fell, according to an update.
People’s Reaction to the Proposal Fail
Regardless of how the proposal went or if there’s going to be a wedding at all, plenty of people online have found the stunt either amusing or alarming, with many expressing concern about the man’s safety. Turns out Jemini Powell’s partner is also a stuntman of sorts and does parkour, so he’s certainly fine, which is great since some people couldn’t help but crack some jokes about the proposal fail:

In case the waterfall proposal is also just a skit, however, JB will certainly need to step up his game for the real one, as he’s setting the bar too high.
