This year marks 60 years of the X-Men, and Marvel is celebrating with a virtual event. The X-Men: 60 Uncanny Years Live Virtual Event is putting the spotlight on the history and creative legacy of everyone’s favorite mutants. Fans of the comics will explore the X-Men’s humble beginnings as the Original Five to the current Krakoan Age and everything in between. While the event is free, you will need to be a Marvel Unlimited Annual or Annual Plus member to attend.
Celebrating 60 Years of the X-Men
Time really flies when you are saving the world repeatedly from multiple threats. It is hard to believe that 60 years have passed since the X-Men made their debut in September of 1963. Yet here we are, and it is time to celebrate the iconic superhero group. With Marvel’s The X-Men: 60 Uncanny Years Live Virtual Event, fans are getting quite a treat. Attendees will go behind-the-scenes with some of the biggest names in X-Men lore on a journey through the history of mutant kind. This includes exclusive live interviews, fan Q&As, giveaways, exclusive announcements and much more.
Joining fans on this journey is some of the biggest names in the history of X-Men. Legendary creator Chris Claremont is joined by Walt and Louise Simonson, Rob Liefield, Marc Silvestri, Gerry Duggan, Jonathan Hickam and more. Together, these folks will take Marvel Unlimited Annual members through 60 years of the X-Men. Plus, special guests include Eric Lewald and Julia Lewald from X-Men: The Animated Series and Beau DeMayo from X-Men ’97. These guests will relive iconic moments in X-Men history and share some behind-the-scenes secrets.
When and Where!
It all goes down this Thursday, March 16 at 7PM EST. If you are a Marvel Unlimited Annual or Annual Plus member you will receive an invite through email. This will include details on how to register to ensure you don’t miss this celebration. Don’t worry, you can still sign up for the membership to RSVP for the event.
While the event is virtual, that doesn’t mean you can’t dress up as your favorite X-Man to enjoy the show. Although, I’d avoid Wolverine as those claws may wreak havoc on your keyboard.
