Square Enix announced today that it is running a Marvel’s Avengers free weekend from July 29 to August 1 to tempt players into a full purchase of the superhero action-adventure.

The event coincides with the permanent launch of the game’s multi-hero feature, which allows players to use more than one of the same hero in the Marvel’s Avengers multiplayer component. Additionally, the free weekend grants access to the game in its entirety with no exceptions, allowing players to sample everything Marvel’s Avengers has to offer, including all heroes, the full campaign, operations, Avengers Initiative, events, and multiplayer.

Scot Amos of developer Crystal Dynamics had this to say about Marvel’s Avengers‘ free weekend.

There’s never been a better time to assemble in Marvel’s Avengers. We’re nearing our one-year anniversary. Players who jump in will get eight heroes, tons of single- and multi-player content, ongoing events, and more. In addition, we have the War for Wakanda expansion coming in August. So now is a great opportunity to start so you’re ready to play as Black Panther and take on Klaw with the rest of the Avengers.”

Marvel’s Avengers Free Weekend On All Platforms Except Xbox

Square Enix is pushing out the free taster period to all platforms the game’s been released on – PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia – except for Xbox One and the next-gen Xbox Series X|S consoles. Square Enix promises a similar all-access Marvel’s Avengers free period for Xbox players sometime in the months ahead. But, the publisher stopped short of volunteering specific dates, noting it’s working with Microsoft to iron out the details. As always, PlayStation players require an active PlayStation Plus subscription for online play.

Lastly, interested parties can download Marvel’s Avengers from the digital stores linked to each platform in every region where the game is available from July 29, with all progress carrying over should you opt to splash out for a full purchase.
