You’ve probably heard horror stories of the barbaric treatment immigrants receive in ICE detention facilities. We’ve also seen plenty of examples of raids where people are literally thrown around by these government-hired punks. In one recent example of ICE taking things too far, they detained a 5-year-old in Massachusetts. Yes, you heard that correctly. The reason is even more sinister: They were holding her hostage so that they could get to her father.
A video posted by NBC10Boston on TikTok shows the horrific situation as it unfolded. NBC explains that a 5-year-old girl was detained by ICE agents so that a Guatemalan father would surrender to them. This happened in front of their home in Leominster, Massachusetts. In the video, you can see the little girl sitting on the ground and sipping from a bottle. ICE agents have her surrounded and she likely felt terrified. In the video, you can hear the mother of the child desperately demanding her daughter’s return.
The father allegedly lived in the U.S. for 22 years before ICE agents came for him. He was driving home with his daughter when he felt like he was being followed. Though the father made it through the front door, ICE agents got out of their vehicles and grabbed the little girl. When police arrived on scene to intervene, they returned the child to her family. However, federal agents returned to the scene a few days later and the father was arrested anyway.
The entire scenario is just a disgusting oversight. Why is ICE permitted to literally hold a child hostage so that they can entrap a father into leaving with them? As one commenter asked on the video, “They held a child HOSTAGE???” And, based on how things are going here in America, I’m really not even that surprised. As one commenter replied, “Unlawful imprisonment is a class A felony usually. This is shameful and disgusting! Can you imagine what that poor baby was feeling at the time?” Imagine a child knowing that they’re being held against their will so that their own father will give himself up to agents. It’s safe to say none of this will come back on them, either, because they’re above the law.
