An ice cream shop owner in Gardner, Massachusetts, encountered a boy craving ice cream, but he had no money at the time. Defeated, the boy started to walk away, crying. Thankfully, the owner decided to gift a school, whipped cream and sprinkles included, leading to a heartwarming and viral moment.
Maddy, known as the Ice Cream Lady on TikTok and owner of Maddy’s Ice Cream and More, shared this sweet moment online. Mainly, she shares various ice-cream-related content while in her truck, but the video in question stood out for its virality. It garnered 2.6 million views, 376,700 views, and 3,500 comments.
The Massachusetts woman, who is seen scooping ice cream, was informed by her co-worker, possibly her daughter, that someone had “no dollars.” That someone was a little boy who lamented having no money, fully believing he was missing out on some delicious creamy dessert.
Immediately, Maddy told one of her other customers to tell the kid to come back. She was willing to give him free ice cream no matter what.
The Ice Cream Lady began preparing the scoop, adding some whipped cream on top. Then, they noticed the boy was walking away. Worst of all, he was crying. Other customers intervened, reaching the kid and telling him the good news.
“We don’t run kids away when they don’t have money,” Maddy told the camera as she added sprinkles to the chocolate ice-cream scoop. “You want an ice cream from Maddy, you get an ice cream from Maddy.”
Eventually, the little boy came back, and Maddy handed the ice cream over. She said, “Here you go, buddy. You can always come up to the ice cream truck, okay?“
