There are more stories about ICE pulling families away from one another than there are about any other topic right now. Unfortunately, POC are currently in a state of survival as they are being targeted by police officers and ICE agents. In fact, ICE has all but taken it upon themselves to kidnap those they believe to be illegal immigrants and ask questions about it later. Unfortunately, a group of workers in the Malden area of Boston, Massachusetts, was targeted by ICE agents and chased down. At least the entire situation was captured by a security camera attached to a nearby home.
The above video was taken by a security camera and features what appears to be construction workers of various races working on a project. Many of the workers are seated within a large, white van with equipment mounted to the top. Behind the van, another vehicle approaches, and from it emerge ICE agents, ready to take them down. The workers likely knew what to look out for because they were also quick on their feet, running away at top speed.
The camera angle changes briefly to show another side of the house, though only one agent can be seen running toward the vehicle they arrived in. It’s unclear if the workers were detained, as that isn’t visible in the video, though it’s incredibly likely considering where they were when things went down.
Commentators under the TikTok were rightfully upset by what they saw, with one person saying, “Mind you these people are just working smh.” Most other comments were written in Spanish, with various people corroborating the idea that if you are Hispanic and are headed toward a construction job of any kind at someone’s home, pray for your safe return. One comment, written in Spanish, wished for their safe escape, saying, “Ojalá y que se hayan logrado escapar🙏🙏.”
There have been more and more reports of ICE agents making the rounds across the United States as of late. It seems that it’s a never-ending cycle that won’t see an end until those within our Presidential administration come forward and do something about it. Otherwise, we will begin to see more and more people with the gall to report those who could potentially be immigrants or make their lives a living nightmare. Hopefully, that’s something we will be seeing in the near future.
