Fast food employees have to deal with a lot of stress on a daily basis, as does anyone in the service industry. However, since the rise of social media apps like TikTok, these stressful situations are just a click away for anyone to watch. However, a recently posted video by the account @benice_workhard shows what happens when the employees are the ones at fault. The video has around 2K likes as well as 54K views, as it has reached viral status. Social media seemingly can’t get enough of this Massachusetts woman’s McDonald’s mayhem.
The TikTok video begins with the woman frantically trying to get into the restaurant. However, it would appear that both doors have been locked, despite the busy dining room. The Massachusetts woman also states that it is not time for the restaurant to be closed, as it is only around “7:12 at night,” and the dinner rush is most likely still in full effect. The woman recording is noticeably annoyed by this situation, as she can even see her order sitting on the counter from outside the establishment. With confusion and anger beginning to set in, the woman can be heard asking the camera, “Why am I locked out?”
TikTok Reacts To Massachusetts McDonald’s Karen
While it’s strange for all the restaurant doors to be locked like this, the video’s comment section was already taking sides. “People who don’t work in fast food will never understand the struggle,” wrote one. “You go, Karen!” said another. “It’s actually illegal to lock customers inside a store,” pointed out one commenter. Finally, one other said, “I wish I had those kind of problems.” It would seem as though most commenters are not on the woman’s side here, despite a few trying to show her some support.
The TikTok then cuts to the Massachusetts woman sitting inside her vehicle with her McDonald’s order in her lap. She starts off by saying, “Guys, this is absolutely ridiculous that I have to make this video.” She then goes into a little more detail regarding the situation that went down a few moments prior. Although it turns out that this whole ordeal was over a single Diet Coke. She then states that another customer had seen her struggling to get inside and opened the restaurant door for her. The woman claims that she then spoke to the employees behind the counter.
While the woman was explaining that the doors were locked, the employee would allegedly say that they were the person who had locked them out. The dinner rush must have been too much to handle for this McDonald’s, so they reportedly locked the door to stop more customers from coming inside. The Massachusetts woman then claims she called the McDonald’s corporate number to complain. At the end of the day, this woman was able to get her Diet Coke, but maybe next time, just go through the drive-thru to get it, right?
