A woman in Louisville, Kentucky, said she was beyond shocked when a birthday dinner outing she attended suddenly veered off course after members of her party allegedly refused to contribute toward a $732 bill. She claimed in a video shared on TikTok that despite the group agreeing earlier to split the cost, they later expected her to be the one to cover it alone. Her posts have since gone viral online, with many netizens criticizing the group’s alleged behavior.
The incident reportedly happened at an upscale restaurant on Bardstown Rd. According to the woman, the group had planned ahead of time to surprise the birthday celebrant by covering her portion of the dinner. She claimed everyone involved had discussed the arrangements beforehand, coordinated outfits, and agreed to divide the expenses among themselves.
However, their tone, she says, changed once the bill came. In one of the videos she uploaded, the woman can be heard asking others at the table whether they would be paying for their portions. One person responded, “Who? I don’t got no portion.” Another said they had only ordered water, while someone else claimed they had only gotten “water and some vegetables.” When she brought up how they had all allegedly agreed to split the cost, they denied it immediately and told her she would have to foot the bill on her own.
While it remains unclear what each of the eight members of the party ordered, multiple dishes and cocktails believed to have been consumed during the dinner can be seen in another of the woman’s videos, including steaks, seafood pasta, salmon dishes, mixed drinks, vegetables, and sides.
In a later update, the woman said she ended up paying more than what she personally consumed but did not ultimately cover the full amount. She also said her relationship with the birthday celebrant has been strained following the incident.

In the comments, many people slammed the other guests, saying they should never have put the woman in that position.
One person asked, “How’s the bill so high if no one ate?!? 👀” Another said, “They didnt know you but expected you to pay ? Lmfao I would have left my portion for that 7 to split lmfaoo.” A third commented, “Everyone should pay for what they got!,” while a fourth wrote, “I would’ve paid mine and birthday girl portion and left…delete n block.”
Some even believed the group had done it deliberately. “They for sure set you up,” one commenter claimed. Someone else speculated, “Friend you sure the birthday girl didn’t have them under the impression you was paying ? Cause the way they was talking to you is wild.”
A few were also surprised to hear about her fallout with the birthday celebrant, with one asking, “Wait. Wait. Wait. The birthday girl is upset with you? And not the friends who had also planned to give her a good birthday.” Another simply added, “May these friendships never find me.”
As of writing, the woman’s videos have collectively drawn more than 700,000 views and over 40,000 likes on TikTok.
