Megan Thee Stallion just shared some very exciting news. In her latest Instagram Story, the rapper revealed she’s officially been granted permission to use an anime sample on her upcoming third studio album. Although she didn’t say which show she’s taken inspiration from, she promised it’ll blow everyone away. Of course, her announcement has sparked various fan theories, ranging from Dragon Ball Z and One Piece to Attack On Titan and Demon Slayer.
Which Anime Will Megan Thee Stallion’s New Album Be Sampling?
Megan explained that the process of getting approved was “very hard.” However, she said it was worth it because the anime sample she’s using is sure to surprise everyone. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long to find out which series she’s talking about because she’ll incorporate the anime sample on her next album, which is rumored to drop sometime this year.

Since Megan has watched so many anime series, it’s hard to pinpoint which show she could have sampled. Some fans think it could be a franchise she’s previously cosplayed, like JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure or Sailor Moon. Another theory is that the audio could come from a classic series with a well-known theme song, like Cowboy Bebop or Naruto. Whatever it ends up being, fans are sure to love it.

This won’t be the first time Megan has referenced anime in her music. In 2019, the rapper included a clever nod to Goku’s Super Saiyan transformation in her song “Running Up Freestyle” with the line:
When I switch my hair to blonde, I’m finna turn up like Goku.

Most recently, she paid tribute to Attack on Titan in her GloRilla collaboration “Wanna Be” by referencing the Female Titan.
We can’t wait to see what she cooks up next once Megan Thee Stallion’s new album drops later this year.
