Megan Thee Stallion is back. On Friday, June 28, the rapper released her highly-anticipated third studio album, Megan. The project features her previously-released singles “Cobra,” Hiss,” and Boa,” as well as plenty of new tracks. For example, one b-side that has caught everyone’s attention is “Otaku Hot Girl.” Throughout the song, the star flaunts her love for anime by referencing some of her favorite series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Naruto.

Notably, “Otaku Hot Girl” samples music from the official Jujutsu Kaisen soundtrack. It also features an intro narrated by Adam McArthur, aka the English voice actor of Yuji Itadori, the show’s main character. He begins the track by saying, “I like a tall woman with a nice big ass. Just sayin’. Like Grammy winner, Megan Thee Stallion.”
The line is a nod to a moment in Jujutsu Kaisen when Yuji is asked about his type in women. He originally mentions Jennifer Lawrence. However, it seems Megan Thee Stallion was able to get McArthur to redub the line to say her instead.
The anime references don’t stop there. The “Otaku Hot Girl” lyrics also mention Yuji by name, as well as other Jujutsu Kaisen characters like Gojo and Sukuna. Other characters that were name-dropped were Naruto and Sasuke from Naruto.
Megan Thee Stallion is no stranger to dropping anime easter eggs throughout her music. She referenced Goku from Dragon Ball Z in her song “Running Up Freestyle.” She also mentioned the Female Titan from Attack On Titan in her GloRilla collaboration “Wanna Be.”
However, “Otaku Hot Girl” is her first song to feature an anime sample. The rapper revealed that getting approval for the audio wasn’t easy. Still, she never gave up and was eventually able to get it cleared. In the end, it seems it was all worth it. Currently, “Otaku Hot Girl” has gone viral on TikTok with many fans using the song in anime edits.
