Amid reports of peace talks between Prince Harry and his family, Meghan Markle reportedly has some reservations, which an apology may quelch. Prince Harry is set to grace the UK on May 8 to honor the Invictus Games organization’s 10th anniversary. According to reports, while the event brings him back to the UK, the Prince’s priority remains meeting with his dad King Charles and cementing their rift. The monarch reportedly looks forward to this meeting, even extending an olive branch to Harry in the hopes of playing “peacemaker” between his two sons, reconciling them for good.
Meghan Markle Demands a Groveling Royal Apology
At this point, it seems all parties involved are on board with the plan. So what could possibly go wrong? One word: Meghan. Since the revelation that Prince Harry would touch down in the UK with his family, there’s been a debate about whether or not the Duchess of Sussex would join her husband on this remarkable occasion, especially after Kate Middleton and Prince William extended an invitation to the Sussexes and their kids.

Prince Harry Unable To Hide Discomfort With Meghan Markle’s Hug at Event Amid Divorce RumorsRoyal author Tom Quinn believes the Suits alum would only consider joining her husband if they meet two major, seemingly impossible requirements. He told The Mirror,
“Harry would like a reconciliation but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal family have been sufficiently nice to her – and grovelingly apologised for the past – it’s not going to happen.”
According to Tom Quinn, until the apology happens, Meghan Markle remains an obstacle in the way of Prince Harry’s reunion with his family. Tom believes the mother of two is blocking her husband from indulging in peace talks with William and Kate, despite the latter’s cancer diagnosis. He divulged,
“There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening. Illness often brings warring family members together, and there have been hopes at Kensington Palace that Kate’s illness might do it.
Turning Down the Olive Branch
The royal author believes Meghan’s refusal to honor the UK invitation would ultimately keep King Charles, Kate and William from meeting her kids Archie and Lilibeth as expected. Notably, Meghan Markle’s desire for an apology has ties to the questionable treatment she claimed to have endured while trying to fit into life as a senior royal.
Since stepping back from royal duties, the Sussexes have made several disturbing claims about the royal life. Some of their claims threatened the core of the firm, from their explosive Oprah Winfrey interview to their Netflix docuseries and Harry’s book, Spare. Their uncensored revelations have also done bouts of damage to the royals, with King Charles, Kate Middleton and Prince William caught in-between. Meghan Markle’s demand for an apology seems irrational, especially at such a delicate moment in the royal family. Perhaps it’s time to call a truce.
