Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to Nigeria exposed a disturbing truth about their relationship dynamics and potentially toxic ambitions. Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first official trip to Nigeria at the invitation of the country’s military. Although the trip was christened “a platform to promote the Invictus Games,” it no sooner became a fashion show for Meghan, with various headlines centered around her outfits.
Royal experts believe this deviation of the tabloids from the heart of the Nigerian tour — promoting the Invictus Games and mental health awareness — was no mere coincidence. On the contrary, things only panned out as Meghan Markle intended from the start, with her ambitious antics. Royal expert Duncan Larcombe shared these sentiments in a recent interview on the heels of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Nigerian tour. He divulged,
“Meghan is a very strong character, very driven, extremely ambitious, and those are the kind of characteristics that mean she will almost always inevitably outshine Harry and grab the attention from him.”
Meghan Markle all but confirmed her over-ambitious scheme in Nigeria, when somehow, Prince Harry’s platform to fraternize with wounded soldiers and promote his Invictus Games in Nigeria became all about his wife. Aside from the welcome reception she garnered as “the Nigerian Princess” thanks to her 43% Nigerian DNA, she took extra care to look the part. Duncan explained,
“Whether it’s deliberate or not, Meghan is definitely a magnet for attention. Although we saw a huge amount of money spent on her combined outfits for Nigeria so maybe it’s not a complete accident that she steals the limelight. Their Nigeria trip was ‘The Meghan Show.”
Where does that leave Prince Harry? The royal commentator pointed out that while Meghan paraded her might with ease, Prince Harry was simply “the side” in her show.

Interestingly, the scandalous prince doesn’t seem to mind playing second fiddle. Body language experts claim Prince Harry seemed uncomfortable during his public appearances in Nigeria, only managing to muster occasional ingenuine smiles as his wife revelled in the attention.
Clinical psychologist Dr Sona Kapur explained the possible meaning behind the couple’s conduct in Nigeria. According to her, Harry’s willingness to lurk in the shadows while the ambitious Meghan Markle basked in the limelight, suggests “strong self-assurance and mutual support.”
However, the situation could potentially lead the Prince to nurture “feelings of inadequacy or resentment.” So far, Prince Harry does not appear to mind his wife’s overshadowing and even looks forward to championing more philanthropic acts together.
