Melania Trump might cement herself to become the most profitable First Lady in history. For her second term, Mrs. Trump has been vocal about how she will do things differently, with reports saying she will only be a “part-time first lady.” While that might be unprecedented, Melania has stuck to her words, barely being involved in the tedious duties of a first lady
Since being sworn in on January 20 alongside her husband, Donald Trump, Melania has only shown up for one official duty—at least, that was until this week. After being noticeably missing from Washington, D.C. for a month, the Slovenian native made an appearance at the National Governors Association Evening Dinner and Reception. Her presence made headlines, but it was truly Melania’s look that had tongues wagging.
As though making a statement, the former model ditched an expected evening gown look for a power suit, matching her husband’s style. She stood tall in a bespoke tailored menswear-inspired Ralph Lauren tuxedo paired with black pointed-toe six-inch pumps from Christian Louboutin. The look was seerily similar to that of her official portrait, which fans slammed as “a stock photo for a wannabe CEO.”
However, the criticism didn’t faze Melania, who was proud of her outfit, as seen in photos shared on her Instagram. Unfortunately, fans were displeased, slamming her for having “no class” and wearing a “full-on dude attire.” Others had questions about her whereabouts, wondering what she had been doing outside her first lady duties.
First Lady Melania Trump To Cash Out $28M From Documentary

It turns out that Melania has been busy scoring lucrative deals from the billionaires happy with her husband’s administration. WSJ reports that the first lady will take home at least $28 million after making a lucrative $40 million deal with Amazon for a life documentary. However, that doesn’t seem enough for Mrs. Trump, who is reportedly soliciting more funds.
She has reached out to the blue-chip CEOs present at her husband’s inauguration— Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, etc— pitching a $10 million “sponsorship” payment. CEOs who pay will get a special name-drop in the credits and be invited to the documentary’s premiere.
The Journal reports that Melania made the lucrative deal in December 2024 when Bezos, alongside his fiancé Lauren Sanchez, visited the Trumps at Mar-a-Lago. Weeks later, Amazon announced exclusive rights to stream the documentary. The $40 million deal is reportedly the most that Amazon has ever spent on a documentary and worth three times more than bids from competing platforms.
With Donald getting a $25 million settlement from Meta and now Melania’s deal, citizens lament that the Trumps are only in office to make money.
“Corruption! Just a way to make it legal to pay Trump’s bribes. Her documentary is not worth $28M,” slammed one fan.
“She’s just as greedy as her husband,” another harsh comment read, while another added, “It’s just a cash grab for these grifters.”
Details about Melania Trump’s upcoming documentary remain primarily unknown, with no premiere date set yet,
