Melania Trump‘s second time as first lady continues to come with intense scrutiny. On Monday, the White House released the official portrait of the FLOTUS, and eagle-eyed citizens couldn’t help but notice something awkward about the image.
Commemorating her regime as the 47th First Lady of the United States, the White House’s Instagram page released Melania’s official portrait. In the black-and-white photo, the former model was the epitome of a powerhouse, wearing a sharp black pantsuit ensemble. Striking a bossy pose, FLOTUS elegantly placed her hands on a table while staring fiercely at the camera. Underneath the suit, she donned a white shirt with the first two buttons undone. Mrs. Trump had a slight smirk and subtle makeup, with her hair styled in loose waves. “First Lady Melania Trump’s Official White House Portrait,” the post’s caption read.

As expected, Melania’s image sparked mixed reactions online, but a common consensus was that the portrait looked “heavily photoshopped.”
“That’s not an official photo. That’s a heavily photoshopped official photo,” one fan slammed.
“Did they really use a filter on her? Why?” wondered another disappointed observer.
“Why does she look like a stock photo for a wannabe CEO?” a third comment read.
“Lmao. Her face doesn’t move,” this user mocked.
“Looks like bad AI,” one fan noted, while another agreed, writing, “It really does… I actually wonder if it is. It looks like they had superimposed Donald‘s mug shot on his presidential portrait, so I wouldn’t put it past them to just use AI to make this photo.”
Others noted that Melania exuded a different energy than her official 2017 White House portrait, where she was wide-eyed and smiled.
“Man, she has been bringing some fantastic, angry energy to this term as first lady,” a fan noted.
Donald’s Inauguration Portrait Faces Similar Fate As Melania Trump
It is no surprise that Melania Trump’s portrait evoked memories of her husband’s. Days before Donald Trump‘s swearing-in, the official headshot for the inauguration ceremony circulated online. Similar to his wife, the president opted for a black-and-white image, rocking a one-sided angry smirk.
The presidential image bore an eerily striking resemblance to his infamous mugshot taken in August 2023 after being indicted on racketeering and related charges.
“Literally looks like he used the mugshot lol,” one citizen lamented, while another wrote, “He looks like every dictator poster from literally every dystopia story. Guess it accurately depicts Trump in that case.”
Both Donald and Melania’s official portraits have received backlash from fans online. However, the First Couple is clearly sending a different message with their coordinated fierce looks.
