Melissa Gorga recently revealed that she spoke with Andy Cohen about the future of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. In case you missed it, Bravo put RHONJ, which stars Melissa and her sister, Teresa Giudice, on pause after a rough 14th season. After years of incessant fighting between the two family members, the network decided that it was time to look in a different direction. Since pausing the series in August 2024, fans have wondered about the status of the show. Most of the cast have said they were waiting for news as well. However, during a new episode of her podcast, Melissa noted that she got new bits of info from Andy himself. So, what did he have to say?
The Bravo Gods Are Still Working On Season 15 of Jersey
During an episode of her podcast, On Display, Melissa Gorga said that she recently ran into Andy Cohen, who spilled some tea about the upcoming season of RHONJ to her. “I do ask him, I do,” she said. “I’ve seen him. I’ve seen him a couple times, but you know the Bravo gods are, he very much so claims, that they are still figuring it out.” Andy recently fired back at disgruntled fans who have bombarded him with questions about the future of the show, telling them to back off. “You’re not gonna get it for, like, a year, so everyone stop asking,” he told Us Weekly. “And I keep saying you are going to get nothing, so stop asking!”
Melissa seemed to confirm Andy’s statement on her podcast, saying the network didn’t work on anything related to RHONJ until after the “new year.” However, she calmed the fears of those who were worried the show wouldn’t see the light of day again. “I do know it’s coming back,” she said. “It’s not like, ‘Oh, they’re throwing out the Real Housewives of New Jersey.’ It’s coming back.”
Melissa Gorga Seems To Believe She’d Be One of the Faces Returning to RHONJ
As Andy Cohen and Melissa Gorga said, Bravo hasn’t touched the Real Housewives of New Jersey since pausing the series in 2024. However, during Mel’s podcast, she seemingly hinted that she could be one of the returning faces should the network do a revamp rather than recast.
“I do think if they do a big cast shakeup, which Andy has said multiple times that is happening, I do think it calls for a little bit of a pause because you don’t want it to just happen overnight like all of a sudden there are right three new girls,” she said. “Like you do need like a minute and a beat, and then and now we’re back, and this is what it is. I agree with that.”
“If I’m giving my honest opinion, I do think they are going to find they’re probably going to keep a few of us. I do think they would probably keep a couple, and they’re definitely going to recast a couple,” she added.
Melissa Gorga Says She’s Not Coming Back to RHONJ if Teresa Giudice Is There
It’s no secret that Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice aren’t currently getting along. The pair have been beefing since the Gorgas joined the series in Season 3. However, things reached an all-time low during Season 13 when Melissa and Joe skipped Teresa’s wedding to Luis Ruelas. Season 14 picked up where they left off, which led to even more drama between the family members. Before the show aired, Teresa said she’d never reconcile with her brother and sister … and it seems like Melissa feels the same.
“… if Bravo decides to go that route and kind of the darker, whatever it is, route, then I need to say, ‘That is not a show that I want to be on anyway,’ which it truly isn’t,” she said on the Two Ts In A Pod show. “I do want to be on [RHONJ]. I do not want to be on that toxic sh-t. So, as long as she is there and that whole thing would come back, I wouldn’t find it as a loss.”
