Mercury, the codename for the Xbox One’s apparent new store look has leaked online. In a new video put together by Windows Central Gaming, it appears there are going to be some small tweaks that could make the store run and look quite a bit better. Thurrott was also one of the first sites to get a look at the screenshots for the redesign.

Windows Central Gaming was quick to point out in the hands-on video none of the changes in Mercury are going to be earthshaking. The tweaks and updates are just going to make the Xbox store look and run better.

Looking at the video, there are some small changes that should make using the store that much better. That includes animations that give the app a fresh look. There are also smaller trailers on the side of a game’s title that seems to work a bit better than the big ones at the top of a page.

Mercury, as it was shown off in the video also moved and loaded quite a bit better. There is a bit of a caveat there. This “leaked” version was running on a PC with an SSD. It’s not clear if the store will be running anywhere near that fast once it’s put on the Xbox One X. It does bode well for the Series X though.

Mercury Arrival TBD

This is the new Xbox Store for 2020, codename "Mercury"

Mercury wasn’t officially announced, though it is coming at some point. The build was accidentally pushed to Insiders users for a short time before it was pulled back. Just when the new Xbox store is official is still unknown.

With screenshots and a hands-on getting leaked, it seems unlikely the wait is going to be long. That’s especially the case considering it did hit the preview build stage. Considering how well the build was running, it looks just about ready.
