Meredith Marks seems to believe that Jen Shah will return to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City despite her boss’ previous claims.
In case you need a refresher, Jen first appeared on RHOSLC during Season 1. Due to her over-the-top personality, she became one of the breakout stars. However, everything came crashing down during Season 2. A federal judge in New York indicted her for her role in a massive telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly. From that point forward, Shah was fighting her legal battles on camera until she decided to plead guilty. The former Bravo star reported to prison in February 203 to begin her six-and-a-half-year sentence.
Since leaving the show, many have wondered whether there would be space for Jen to return in the future. During previous conversations, Andy said he didn’t see it. However, during her chat with People, Meredith hinted that there could be a spot for her. Plus, she spilled even more tea about their relationship, including their recent prison phone call.
Meredith Wants Jen To Return if She’s Willing To Take ‘Accountability’
During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, which occurred at Bravo Fan Fest, Meredith shocked the world by saying she spoke with Jen on the phone. However, according to the Ice Queen herself, their conversation wasn’t anything special. “First of all, it was a 10 minute call — that’s all you’re allowed — and it’s on a recorded line by the government, so I was very careful because I didn’t know what I’m supposed to say or not say,” she said. “It was pretty surface. ‘How are you? How are the kids? How’s Sharrieff?’ stuff like that.”
Meredith continued, saying she was glad to speak with Jen. The reality star added that hearing Shah’s voice was refreshing, and she could tell the SLC villain was “working on herself.”
Later, she shared her feelings about whether she could see Jen returning to the show that put her on the map. “Accountability goes a long way in our circle,” she said. “If you say, ‘Look, I screwed up, and I made a mistake, and I’m sorry,’ — that matters. If she’s taking accountability and doing what she needs to do to make it better, that’s the best she can do right now. There’s nothing else she can do beyond that.”
Her comments come after Andy recently seemed opposed to considering a future season with Jen. “I mean, Jen is incarcerated. I don’t know when she’s getting out, so I think that seems off the table,” he said.
If Jen Can Return, Can Monica?
Meredith’s comments about Jen are interesting, considering how the group pushed Monica Garcia out of their social circle. If you watched Season 4, then you’ll remember Monica being exposed for running the Instagram troll account Reality Von Tease. The group lashed out at her during an explosive cast trip, which later resulted in Monica being asked to leave. At the reunion, they tore into her, which seemed to solidify her fate on the show.
Monica expressed her frustration with the group’s unwillingness to move forward with her, calling them “beyond frustrating.”
“Housewives is all about bridges and mending relationships and seeing the other side of things, but [with] how things played out, I don’t know how they do it as long as certain other cast members are there,” she said.
At the end of the day, Meredith doesn’t call the shots; Andy does. And according to him, he’s hopeful that Monica can one day return to face the people she’s wronged. He’s admitted to being a “big Monica fan” and said her return is something the network will explore in “the future.”
As far as Jen is concerned… could she ever return to RHOSLC? Fans can check back in five more years.
