Basilio is the last party member that you can recruit during the succession tournament. While he will show up as an enemy at first, he will change sides after spending some time with your group. After awakening his Archetype, you can start forming a follower bond with Basilio in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Since he is the last ally you can recruit, leveling up his bond will be a race against time since you have to increase it before you face the final boss.

After completing the main quest in Altabury in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you can start Basilio’s follower bond by speaking to him on the Gauntlet Runner. Like the other party members, upgrading his bond will allow him to gain a regular amount of EXP while he is not on the field.
