Metroid Prime is considered to be one of the best games ever made and also one of the best games in the Metroid series. Not long ago, Nintendo shadow-dropped Metroid Prime Remastered, without prior advertisement or announcement. Since its release, many new and old fans of the Metroid series decided to give this masterpiece a go. Metroid Prime Remastered is filled with different boss fights, and here is the guide on how to beat Thardus in the game.
How to Beat Thardus in Metroid Prime Remastered
Metroid Prime Remastered has many different bosses fights each requiring a different strategy to defeat. Thardus is one of those bosses fights you face in Metroid Prime. It’s not a difficult boss, but it can be challenging and confusing if you don’t know what ability to use.
Before we start with the guide on defeating and explaining Thardus’ attacks, make sure you scan this boss before starting the battle. There is a Log Book in the game that if you want to complete, you must scan Thardus as well.
With that out of the way, let’s see how you can defeat Thardus. Before you reach this spot in the game, you have acquired the Thermal Visor from Phendrana Drifts’ Research Core. To use it, simply hit the down on the D-pad.
Once the boss fight starts, use the Thermal Visor and you should be able to see Thardus’ weak point. That’s where you have to lock on and fire missiles and charge beams. Then the area you just shot will be cracked and then you should use missiles and beams to hit the crack spot.
In order to defeat Thardus, you have to repeat this process a few times until it dies. As mentioned above, Thardus isn’t a tough boss fight since it only has 3 moves, and they can be avoided easily.
The first attack is where Thardus throw rocks at Samus, which is best to be dodged. You can shoot them, but it will lead to temporary blindness if Thermal Visor is equipped.

Thardus will also turn into a ball once in a while. It is best to assume Morph Ball form to be able to dodge and escape from it faster. Then there is the storm that will come around Thardus. In this situation try to get closer to it, use Thermal Visor, and then shoot some Super Missiles to break the storm.
