Mia Thornton recently threw major shade at Karen Huger after the reality star’s DUI in Potomac, Maryland. In a post on Instagram, Mia, who’s known for stirring up trouble on the Real Housewives, wasted no time coming for her co-star.
“So, this is what you do when you’re going to go out and do some drinking,” she said in a video. “You hire a driver. Note to self.” In the caption of her post, the mother of two reminded her followers that it’s “proper etiquette to drink responsibly.”
Her post comes after Huger was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in March 2024. Following her accident, Karen thanked her fans for their support in a later statement before saying she was “grateful to be alive today.”

Mia Thornton’s shady comments on Instagram aren’t the first time she’s taken a shot at Karen. The two have battled back and forth since Mia joined Potomac in Season 6. During the first episode of Season 9, all of Karen’s co-stars had something interesting to say about her accident, including Jacqueline Blake.
The latter caused commotion among the group when she revealed Karen may have been “tipsy” during an earlier phone call. Consequently, it’s unsurprising that she’s in the comments of Mia’s post, adding fuel to the fire.
“I agree with this message,” she wrote. “Says the little “friend of” with no [previous DUI] cases.”
However, Mia and Jacqueline aren’t the only Housewives with something to say. Ashley Darby spoke about the drama this upcoming season in an earlier interview, too. “I feel like we have a responsibility to our friendship group and to this process that we are going to be forthcoming,” she said. “And some people may have a hard time getting in the groove.”
It’s still too early in the season to see how Karen will address the elephant in the room. But, with co-stars like the ones mentioned above, she’ll be forced into that conversation sooner or later.
