While dealing with a local storm, a Michigan woman stopped at her local McDonald’s. What she wasn’t expecting was to encounter a Karen harassing a McDonald’s employee over the most trivial request.
TikTok user Jennbishhhh caught the moment on camera, who had been there to charge her phone during a storm. While there, Jenn witnessed a customer pull through the drive-thru with her windshield wipers going. In turn, the windshield wipers were slinging water all over the workers and their equipment. According to Jenn, the employees “were not rude” about asking the woman to turn them off.
The customer, now agitated, refused the McDonald’s employee’s request. Instead, she got her food at the window, marched inside the restaurant to berate them at the counter. That’s where Jenn started recording the confrontational moment. The woman can be heard screaming at the workers, telling them they can’t tell her what to do. She calls the employee “disrespectful” for trying to defend her coworkers.
While they’re trying to calm down the woman, she calls out, “I’m a customer!” She continues calling them “disrespectful” and telling them to “shut up,” while simultaneously interrupting them. Eventually, one of the male workers gets fed up with her. He tells her she needs to leave because she’s now “trespassing.” She tries to tell them she isn’t and maintain she’s allowed to be there. But she leaves anyway, yelling at them the entire way out of the restaurant.
The reaction to the irate McDonald’s customer
A few commenters weighed in the customer’s ridiculous behavior, one of whom shared their personal experience working a drive-thru window. Others expressed how they would’ve handled the situation.
“A lot of people dont think nor care to turn wipers off and not blow smoke/vape in the window. It irks the hell outta me,” wrote one commenter, clearly familiar with customer’s and their apparent inconsiderate behavior. Second-hand smoke is no joke. The least customers can do is give a rest for a minute.
“I would’ve refused service and then when she came in called the cops. Customers need to learn their place they are so entitled,” said another viewer. To this, Jenn responded by commenting, “Yeah this was a little crazy.” Service workers get it particularly hard from people and their bad attitudes. The customer is always right!
With several viewers bookmarking the confrontation Jenn witnessed, people are likely waiting on a part 2. However, Jenn has not posted any added context, nor a word from the employees.
