Mila Kunis faced an immense wave of backlash as 2022-shared photos of her out and about showed her engaging in a “dirty habit.” The Hollywood actress, 40, joins the list of celebrities who smoke tobacco, although she has made multiple efforts to quit.
The images, clearly showing Mila puffing away on a cigarette, have sparked outrage on a fan account on Instagram, with users slamming the high-profile star for smoking in public. Mila has further raised eyebrows for confessing to “chain-smoking” to slim down for ballet movie Black Swan. Also known for being smokers are singer Dua Lipa, actor Ben Affleck, and supermodel Kate Moss.
Looking her usual low-key self, Mila kept casual in a white sweatshirt with black cartoon drawings on it. Highlighting her trim waist as she added in blue jeans and hints of a blue top beneath her sweater, the Family Guy actress wore heavy black eyeliner as she showed off her gorgeous features, sporting her hair down and looking a little like she was trying to stay under the radar.
Using one hand to hold her cigarette to her mouth, the wife to Ashton Kutcher got her nicotine fix, but she’s paying a heavy price as fans rip her apart.
Fans Angered By Her ‘Dirty Habit’
In a caption, the user uploading the photo had written: “Do you smoke?”
One furious fan replied: “Bad and dirty habit and smelly.” Agreeing, another said: “Don’t smoke don’t smoke smoke.” Warning the mom of two of the well-known dangers of smoking, a third said: “Time for you to stop smoking. I’m sure your husband and children don’t want you to die of lung/Laryngeal Cancer!!!”
Smoking is now the single most preventable cause of death across the globe and kills over 480,000 Americans. Cancer-causing (carcinogenic) chemicals in tobacco smoke alter DNA, leading to mutations that can result in life-threatening cancers.
Per Harper’s Bazaar, Mila had just quit smoking when she first met husband Ashton on the set of That ’70s Show. “She wanted me to, like, shotgun a cigarette smoke so she could breathe it in and I was, like, โAll right,’โ the actor revealed. Users seeing the snaps also referenced Mila’s status as a mother. “I guess you really donโt want to see you kids go to college or get married. So sad and selfish,” one fan replied.
Whether Mila is smoking in 2024 is unknown. It’s also worth bearing in mind that the images were uploaded to the fan feed in 2022, however they were likely taken some years prior.
