As the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, she made a name for herself when the two teamed up to star together on the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. After that, her music and acting career took off, and she became one of Hollywood’s biggest young stars. Over the years, Miley has been candid about life and the eras she’s gone through. Recently, she surprised fans by making some rare comments about her ex-husband, actor Liam Hemsworth.
In a new feature for Harper’s Bazaar, Miley Cyrus spoke about her long career, her family, boyfriend Maxx Morando, and her former husband, Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus claims that working with Morando on her new album was par for the course when it comes to her career. It was nothing knew, as she’s always worked with people close to her.
“I worked with my dad forever. That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other. I’ve always worked with the people that I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much,” Cyrus stated.
Miley first met Liam on the set of their film, The Last Song. In 2023 she took to TikTok to share that she looks back fondly on that time in her life, claiming she and Hemsworth were falling in love both on and off screen. The pair began dating and after an up and down relationship finally tied the knot in 2018. However, the marriage didn’t go the distance and the couple later divorce, ending their nearly 10-year love story.
Miley Cyrus Gets Opens Up About Her Past
“I think one of the elements that made that movie feel so special was it was watching two very young people fall in love with each other, which was happening in real time and real life,” she stated (via E! Online).
It’s not common for Miley Cyrus to speak publicly about Liam Hemsworth. However, she has had her moments. During a previous interview with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Miley admitted that she kept a huge secret from Liam when they first got together.
Cyrus claimed that she didn’t tell Hemsworth about her attraction to women right off the bat. She even admitted to lying to him about her sexual history when they got together out of fear that he may judge her. She told the actor that she had been intimate with one of the men in her life, which was untrue. Later, the lie came back to bite her when that man married one of Hemsworth’s friends. Cyrus says she was then forced to admit the lie she told him when she was a teenager.
“They were a complete mess together. She also revealed that she lied to him about her sexuality before they got together,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
It seems that Miley Cyrus has a positive outlook about her former relationship with Liam Hemsworth. She appears to be happy with her current boyfriend, Maxx Morando and is looking to the future in her love life and career.
