Millie Bobby Brown is tired of the never-ending discussions about her physical appearance. The Damsel star did not mince her words against critics and media outlets, calling them out for harassment on Instagram. She implied these people should be ashamed as adults for picking on a young woman and using her for “clicks.”
“The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices is disturbing,” Brown began. She noted the situation worsened because women wrote some of these articles. She slammed these writers as hypocrites, claiming it was easier to talk about “supporting and uplifting young women” than doing it.
Brown continued, “Disillusioned people can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not their own.” She declared she was done entertaining the comments about her appearance and refused to apologize for growing up. Her frustration with the situation was evident on her face and the tone of her voice.
Millie Bobby Brown Won’t Be Anyone but Herself
Brown doubled down on remaining unbothered by the conversations about her appearance. She declared critics would never change her, saying: “I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman.”
The Enola Holmes star continued writing, “I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself.” Additionally, Brown lamented the state of society, wondering why people choose to be “horrible” instead of being nice. She echoed similar sentiments in her post’s caption, partly writing, “This isn’t journalism. This is bullying.”
This isn’t the first time Brown has addressed the negative comments about her appearance. Days earlier, We covered her reaction to fans’ unsavory remarks about her recent blonde transformation. She initially launched the new look on social media earlier in February, but many missed the update.
Critics Bash Millie Bobby Brown’s Transformation

Those who missed Brown’s blonde debut found out about her new look during her red carpet-appearances. She stepped out with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, to promote her latest movie, The Electric State. Despite rocking glamorous outfits for the film’s premiere in Los Angeles and Madrid, critics were more concerned about her appearance.
They believed her fashion and makeup choices did not compliment her features and made her appear much older than she was. “She looks like she is 50 years old,” someone claimed. Another echoed similar sentiments, comparing her to 63-year-old actress Jennifer Coolidge. These mean comments caught Brown’s attention, and she addressed the criticism on her Instagram Story.
After seeing multiple headlines bashing her appearance, she appreciated Vogue defending her. Brown reposted the outlet’s article with the headline “No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks.” She penned her gratitude to them in an overlay text, writing, “Thank you.”
