When you’re going on a trip, you hope nothing goes wrong with your flight. To some, the worst-case scenario is that the food turns out not to be good enough. Well, a Minnesota flight had a different kind of problem. Instead of the food being terrible, the passengers found themselves sharing the flight with two pigeons. It’s safe to say that the flight was left in chaos as people on board started screaming while the pigeons were flying around. I’m sure that screaming would have made the pigeons easier to catch.
According to NBC News, the Delta flight was departing from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. Before this happened, a passenger named Tom Caw saw the first pigeon. This made the pilot return to the gate so they could remove the bird. It wasn’t the end of it, however, since they found another pigeon in the plane as it was getting ready to take off again. “Pilot said when he radioed the control tower about us coming back due to a pigeon, the guy said that was a first for him. Pilot told him it was the second time for him—the first being half an hour earlier,” Caw wrote in an Instagram post.
In the video posted by Caw, you can hear the passengers screaming as someone was trying to catch one of the two pigeons. The flight took off safely after a baggage handler removed the second pigeon. Delta has also issued an apology. Honestly? This feels like a great idea for a Disney film.
People Reacting to the Minnesota Flight’s Chaos
The absurdity of the situation made several people joke around about what happened. Several couldn’t ignore how the eyewitness’ last name was Caw. “No way the guys name was ‘Caw’ c’mon,” one person wrote. Another said, “No wonder the pigeons freaked out with a crow nearby.” Since the passengers were heard screaming in Caw’s video, someone had to comment on it. “people screamed because of a pigeon?” they wrote. I mean, it could have been worse. One Redditor even joked and said, “It is my emotional support pigeon and I can’t fly without it!”
While I believe this whole thing with the Minnesota flight could be a Disney film, someone had another film idea. “Snakes on a Plane sequel is looking wild,” they wrote. We already have a name suggestion as someone said, “Pigeons on a flight.” On a more serious note, one person asked, “Seriously. No mention on how they got aboard?” They didn’t receive a serious answer, though, since someone else replied by saying, “Probably the same way everyone else got on the plane – their feet.”
