Miranda Lambert recently went viral for criticizing fans for their concert etiquette. While performing “Tin Man,” the singer stopped her show to call out a group of fans for taking selfies. “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song,” Lambert told her Las Vegas audience on July 15. “It’s pissing me off a little bit. Sorry, I don’t like it. At all.” Some fans understood her reaction, but others believed Lambert went too far by singling out specific audience members. Now, one of the women Lambert called out has responded to the situation, and what she said will surprise you.
Woman Reacts to Miranda Lambert Call-Out
In a July 17 interview with NBC News, Adela Calin said she’s “appalled” over what happened. “It was 30 seconds at most,” the social media influencer said. “We took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down.”
Calin told the publication she and her friends tried to take a group photo at the beginning of the concert. However, since the lighting wasn’t great, they waited to take it at the end of the show instead. “We just couldn’t get one good picture,” Calin explained. “We were so excited because I think we had the best seats in the house in the whole theater.”
Although the group was just having fun, Calin said Lambert’s reaction made her feel as if they did “something wrong.” The influencer compared the moment to a “teacher scolding [her]” and “telling [her] to sit” back down. “I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature, and vain,” Calin said. She added that she and her friends are all “grown women” in their thirties to sixties.
While the concert didn’t go as planned, Calin didn’t let the incident ruin her night. After the show, Calin shared the now-infamous photos from the concert on Instagram. “These are the 2 pictures we were [taking] when Miranda Lambert stopped her concert and told us to sit down and not take selfies 😱,” Calin captioned her post. In a separate Instagram, Calin wrote, “So much fun last night at Miranda Lambert concert.”
The drama happened amid Lambert’s Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency, which will run through December 2023.
