With the political landscape in its current situation, people will say just about anything on the internet. In the hopes of finding like-minded individuals, many individuals share their feelings about what’s happening in the world and how they feel about it. Unfortunately, sometimes this rhetoric is hateful and harmful. The worst part is that it sometimes comes from those who claim to be religious and care for others. This is what one Missouri woman found out from a conservative woman and now she’s calling it out.
Tina (@tinaray_81) shared a TikTok video showing a hateful message shared by a conservative woman who claims to be Christian. The Twitter post, shared by @AppPatriorgirl, states, “I don’t know about you, but I voted for retribution and revenge. I voted for Trump to crush the left so badly that they are afraid to show their faces in the light of day.” She goes on to say, “It’s a good thing that I’m not God” because “[expletive] would be a lot more crowded right now.” This all comes from a woman who claims on her profile that she’s a “proud MAGA extremist.”
Tina says that she fears conservatives are “so far gone, nothing we say or do will change anything.” She said that hundreds of people ‘liked’ her comments and agreed with what she said. As she goes on to say, not everybody needs to think or act the same way that you do and that’s what’s so great about people in America. However, when you use your rhetoric to be hateful about people who don’t think like you, that’s a problem. This is what makes people so cynical toward one another. It’s what fuels hate.
Tina continues with, “The right sticks with this narrative that they are the party of good, Christian moral values. I’m not sure how this is a good, Christian value.”
One commenter shared, “They are just so pathetically scared, insecure and ignorant and they puff up their chests to compensate for it.” Another person said, “Why doesn’t my family talk to me anymore…”
