In recent years the size of many video games has been an issue for many players. This monster of all games, in terms of claiming a big chunk of the hard drives on consoles or PC, was Warzone which required more than 100GB of free space to install the game with all the available updates. Now that Modern Warfare 2 has become available, players are already concerned about how much of their drive will be occupied, especially with the future updates that will come. So if you need to save some space on your consoles for Modern Warfare 2, then you’ve to the right place.

How to Save Space on Your Console for Modern Warfare 2

With video games getting bigger and better in terms of graphics, it will require more space on the drive to store all the required data. Not long after the announcement of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, both companies announced that players could buy external drives to increase the space of their consoles.

This is certainly one way to solve the issue of not having enough space on your consoles, but there is also the free option to save some space. With the release of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0, players are already taking precautions about having enough space on their consoles for future content and updates.

The good thing about Modern Warfare 2 is that it allows players to delete the files of modes in the game that they won’t be playing. For instance, if you have completed the campaign section of the game and don’t want to play it anymore, you can delete the files of that mode to save up some space. Here are the steps on how you can delete the modes you don’t want to save space on your console for Modern Warfare 2:

  • Launch Modern Warfare 2
  • Go to the Settings Tab
  • Scroll Down and go the Manage Files
  • From there, choose what game mode you want to uninstall
  • After selecting press Uninstall

By doing this, you will end up saving some space on your console for future updates or even new games that you plan to install. You can also check the size of each mode when you decide to uninstall them.
