Even though Modern Warfare 3 features new Open Combat missions, it still has those classic Call of Duty operations. This one tasks you to go undercover in a base on the enemy’s territory. Under the radar, the Deep Cover MW3 Campaign mission features former CIA agent Kate Laswell going to a Kastovian base to grab intel on Makarov from a secret ally.
- 1. Walk undetected towards the Admin building that has flags on it.
- 2. Get the access key card from the officer across the building.
- 3. Use the card to get inside the Admin building and meet up with Yuri.
- 4. Run upstairs and escape from the rooftop.
Contacting Yuri Volkov, Kate goes inside a Kastovian base with the help of Nikolai. Playing as her, first, you’ll start on top of a hill in the base with a silenced pistol. However, killing targets in this mission is not an option, at least until you have to.
1. Move To The Admin Building’s Entrance
To begin the mission, start going down the path and turn left until you reach the hangers. Remember, you need to walk there; running will blow your cover, and that is not an option in this diplomatic mission. The game won’t keep you from killing targets, though, but as soon as you’re detected, it takes only 1 second until you’re dead.
After you’ve reached the hangers, it’s time to take a right, or you can just walk through the hangers as you see in the image above. Next, go straight, and take another right until you reach a gate. Here, you’ll spot some guards waiting at the entrance, and after a dialogue between Laswell and Nikolai, the building that you need to get into will be marked.
2. Snatch The Access Keycard From The Officer
Your goal is to reach the right building that has some flags on it, but for that, you’ll need a keycard. Stay away from the guards, and the game will mark an officer with a key in the Modern Warfare 3 Deep Cover mission. He’s going to the building with the stairwell, and you would have to follow the poor keyholder once he’s inside. Follow him there, and you’ll get the chance to use your weapon to get at least two kills in the Deep Cover MW3 mission.
3. Meet Yuri Inside The Admin Building
Next step, grab the keycard and get inside the building with flags. When inside, you’ll find a room marked on the left side; Yuri is waiting for you there. Captain Price will try to warn Laswell that a gas missile is about to hit the Kastovian base, which begins the second part of this mission.
4. Escape From The Rooftop Before Gas Reaches You
Run towards the main door that you came inside with the keycard. There, you’ll find stairs on the left side; take them until you reach the next floor. Here you have to proceed towards the end of the hallway, where there’s an elevator. Well, no elevator is waiting here to take you to the top of course, but there’s a ladder that you can take from the right side of the wall. Climb up, and then follow the hallway till you reach the stairs.
Once you make it to the rooftop, Nikolai is waiting for you at the top. Make the jump, and enjoy the rest of the game with a nice transition into cutscenes. And there you have it! Makarov just won another fake operation by framing others for attacking a Kastovian base, and the Deep Cover Modern Warfare 3 mission is over.
If you manage to get the Major’s keycard within 90 seconds without being detected, you’ll unlock the “Back in the Field” trophy achievement.
