The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PS4 beta is underway and while many are feeling positive about the game overall, there has been a sizable amount of criticism when it comes to the lack of a mini-map.

In pretty much every other online Call of Duty game, there has been some sort of mini-map present in the multiplayer at all times. Modern Warfare ditched the mini-map in favor of a more realistic approach and the only way obtain one is to get a Personal Radar killstreak. Players have been quick to make their opinions known on this subject, calling for the mini-map to return to the game outside of the Personal Radar killstreak. Most have said that the lack of a mini-map has encouraged camping and has made finding your squad more difficult:

Luckily for those who are hoping to see a change for Modern Warfare, it seems that those at Infinity Ward are listening to your feedback and willing to make changes if need be. In a recent Reddit post, Communications Manager Ashton Williams addressed the feedback from the community:

“Okay….let’s talk about minimap.”

“We hear you loud and clear. Along with your feedback and the data we’re continuously collecting, we’ll be experimenting internally with a few different options and will keep you updated if we make any changes that you might see during the Beta. This is an ongoing conversation with all of you, so again, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this topic and we’ll update you again when we have more information to share.”

Along with this, Williams talked about other visual and audio problems players are experiencing as well as some concerns with the spawn system.

Whether you are hoping to see the mini-map make a return for good in Modern Warfare or not, this is a great sign for the future relationship of Infinity Ward and the Modern Warfare community. Hopefully, we’ll have fewer issues come launch time and Modern Warfare can be a return to form for the Call of Duty series.

Modern Warfare releases on October 25th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and Windows PC.

Do you want to see the mini-map make a full-return to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? Are you enjoying the beta so far? Let us know in the comments below!
