Season 4 of RHOSLC was one for the record books, and Bravo fans have Monica Garcia to thank for that. At the time, the reality star brought something different to the series, showing off her life as a mother, divorced Mormon, and a massive troll.
In case you forgot, Monica was kicked off the cast trip during the Season 4 finale by Heather Gay. After the latter discovered Monica used to run a gossip page called Reality Von Tease, things weren’t the same. Heather slammed Garcia, saying she had “receipts, proof, timeline, and screenshots” to prove she bullied their cast for years.
Tensions between the group hit a high during the reunion after Monica doubled down on her actions. Her statements (and Mean Girls-inspired Burn Book) disturbed the cast even more, causing them to cut ties with her. This allegedly caused Bravo to end their relationship with her, too, which explains her Season 5 absence. So, how does Monica feel about being iced out of the group? She spilled it all during an interview with Us Weekly.
Monica Garcia Is Upset About Her RHOSLC Firing
After Bravo revealed that Monica Garcia wouldn’t return to the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, fans were shocked, considering their finale had become one of the network’s most explosive moments. However, according to Monica, it had more to do with her co-stars than with the network.
During her chat with Us, the reality star told the publication that the cast’s refusal to film with her was “beyond frustrating.” She continued, saying she didn’t recognize her cast mates had “that kind of power to make that kind of stand.” Monica assumed her adversaries, like Heather, Whitney Rose, and Lisa Barlow, would continue showing up to work, saying she didn’t think they had much “control or say over casting.”
“They’re not NeNe Leakes, they’re not anything like that,” she said. “So, it just kind of blew my mind that they had that kind of power.”
Despite her firing, Monica would be happy to return to the series under the right circumstances. “Housewives is all about bridges and mending relationships and seeing the other side of things, but [with] how things played out, I don’t know how they do it as long as certain other cast members are there,” she explained. “So I could see myself coming back if, maybe, there was a cast shake-up.”
Fans who are missing Monica can catch the wavemaker on Peacock in Season 2 of House of Villains.
