The huge 3.0 update for Monster Hunter Rise is still weeks away, but Capcom will launch a new Event Quest to fill our cravings for new content for now. You can grab the Event Quest from Senri the Mailman in front of the Steelworks later this week on May 7. After downloading it (or any other quests), it can be accepted from the Event Quest option at the Gathering Hub’s Quest Counter. Every Event Quests you’ve downloaded can be played even in online mode. This works unlike in Monster Hunter: World, but similar to previous handheld titles, which Capcom did deliberately since it expects portable devices not always to be able to go online all the time.

Monster Hunter Rise New Event Quest: ‘Beast of the Shadows‘

  • Release Date: May 7
  • Condition: HR 24 or higher
  • Reward: Ninja Set Stickers
  • Locale: Shrine Ruins
  • Objective: Hunt a Nargacuga

It’s a simple quest where you have to either slay or capture the bat wyvern Nargacuga. While this shouldn’t be too hard (especially if you’ve farmed it before to craft those Narga weapons with sweet Affinity), the HR 24 barrier might prove to be a bit of a hassle. You will need to grind those ranks if your HR is still too low. Finishing this quest will give you ninja-themed chat stickers featuring Fugen and his Palico, Kogarashi.

Monster Hunter Rise May Event Quest reward

Previously, Capcom released the first-ever Monster Hunter Rise Event Quest on April 30. Just two days after the version 2.0 update was released. Completing that quest will bet you a special gesture, and Capcom has said that it will be releasing more Event Quests that give out free stickers and gestures. Below are the details for the previous Event Quest:

April 30’s Event Quest: ‘Out of Sight, Out of Mind’s Eye‘

  • Condition: HR 4 or higher
  • Reward: Ninjutsu gesture
  • Locale: Lava Caverns
  • Objective: Hunt a Tetranadon

Monster Hunter Rise director Yasunori Ichinose has said that the 3.0 update will come sometime in late May and will finally bring a conclusion to the whole Narwa and Rampage storyline. Stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for more Monster Hunter and gaming news.
