Two Deviants from Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Hellblade Glavenus, and Boltreaver Astalos, come to Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin 1.2.0 Title Update. These Deviant monsters aren’t just cool, but they have strengths that rival even the Elder Dragons. All the reasons to get one, right? Let’s take a look at how you can obtain yourself a Hellblade Glavenus as a Monstie in Monster Hunter Stories 2.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 – How To Get Hellblade Glavenus
To get a Hellblade Glavenus egg, you need to take on the newly added “Co-Op Quest ★8:(Explore) Fire Eggs” from the Quest Board. As you can expect, this is a quest where you go in with another Rider. A randomized AI Rider will instead tag along if you start the quest alone. Although sometimes depending on which character you got, playing with an AI Rider isn’t advisable and it’s better to look for a real co-op partner.
Aside from a chance of getting a Hellblade Glavenus egg, all eggs in this quest contain Fire element Monsties. This makes it perfect for farming Fire monsters like Rathalos or Brachydios, and you might also want to use a higher tier of Expedition Tickets to get better eggs during the quest. Don’t forget to apply the Finding Charm (no need for the Prayers, though) for an increased chance of getting rare Genes.
The “★8:(Explore) Fire Eggs Co-Op Quest” will only be finished after you and your partner defeat Hellblade Glavenus in the last nest. Hellblade Glavenus itself is a Power-type monster that is weak against Water element attacks. And these are the best weapon types you can use to break each body part of the sharp-tailed Brute Wyvern:
- Head: Slash
- Stomach: Blunt
- Tail: Slash
For more details about its weakness, you can head over to our Monsters Weaknesses list guide. Once you beat it, you will get the materials to let you craft the Hellblade Armor+. Containing Tenacity, Bombardier (L), and Heroics (XL). If you need more materials, later on August 19, the “★9: (Slay) Hellblade Glavenus” Quest and “★8: Psychoblaze Black Knight” Subquest will be added as well. Meanwhile, as a Monstie, Hellblade Glavenus will have unique skills called:
- Burning Tail – Whip Gene (XL), Level 15: Speed type. Deals medium Fire damage to one enemy. High chance to inflict Burn for 3 turns.
- Hellblade – Onslaught Gene (XL), Level 40: Power type. Deals heavy Fire damage to one enemy. Fairly high chance for a critical hit.
And that’s it, good luck on your hunts and ransacking monsters’ nests! Don’t forget to check our other guides on Tribes of Midgard, Genshin Impact, and others. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is now available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
