Recent protests have seen their fair share of horrible scenes, from arrests to brutal attacks on protesters. However, not all protest-related videos make for depressing viewing; occasionally, some funny things can happen, too. One example is a California protester who was in a cow suit and had a guitar on him. He decided to annoy the National Guard by singing to them what could only be described as a wild song. He’s been singing for a while because he said, “I’m gonna sing one last one.” The national guard seemed to be enjoying the performance because one of them responded by saying, “Please do.”
The amateur California singer dedicates the song to “the young lady” in the National Guard group and also to “women.” His voice is absolutely horrible, but as the song progresses you get used to it. He sings:
“This song is about girls and their dreams. Girls are like beautiful butterflies floating through life. One week they want to be a photographer, next week they want to be in the national guard. But there’s one thing we can do to clip the wings on those dreams and this is called: I put a baby in you.”
The song goes on, but the highlight is his repetition of “I put a baby in you.” Another highlight is when he says “F**k ICE and Donald Trump.” While you might assume that the National Guard would be upset, especially the woman, this isn’t the case. They’re delighted. Throughout the entire video, all of them are laughing at the absurd lyrics; they got a free performance. I have to mention that the guy’s tail in his cow suit was a condom.
People Reacting to the California Protester’s Performance
It turns out that many people already knew the cow guy. His name turned out to be Robby Roadsteamer, and he “is a national treasure,” according to a comment. Someone else was in awe of the California protester as they wrote, “Protect this man at all costs.” Others commented on how the National Guard looked like they were having fun rather than being offended. “This was the highlight of these dudes day right here,” one person wrote. Another one said, “They seem to be having a good time.”
There were some people, however, who found the “I Put a Baby in You” song offensive. “As a woman if I were there, I would be offended, even if I knew he was kidding,” one woman wrote. And well, she was mocked as someone replied by saying, “Sounds like you got a baby put in you !” Another reply was “You sound fun.” Another person held the same opinion and commented, “the look on their faces isn’t appreciation, that was some disgusting sexist shit. Yes f rump, but without a side of puke.” A third person wrote, “Disgusting on so many levels.” Honestly, the woman in the National Guard seemed to be enjoying the song and not just the men. Plus, they are the National Guard. If they were offended, nothing would have stopped them from reacting.
