A year after MK1‘s release, the time has finally come to complete the Kombat Pack 1 roster by giving us Takeda Takahashi. Ed Boon, the creator of the Mortal Kombat, has officially confirmed the release date for Takeda in Mortal Kombat 1, however, the news isn’t all good after all. For those of you who were excited to see Ferra return from the MKX as a new Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo fighter, an unfortunate delay is on the schedule.
Right when we had the first trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, the developers decided to show us the first glimpse of all the DLC characters coming to the game. That included Quan-Chi, Peacemaker, Omni-Man, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda Takahashi, who is a special addition alongside the guest and storyline-related characters on this list.
Takeda, the son of Kenshi Takahashi, is the only member of the Kombat Kids that’s returning in Mortal Kombat 1. However, he’s not going to fit well into the current timeline’s narrative as Kenshi is still young and unmarried. This is while Takeda’s ending cutscene might reveal something of relevance, such as if he’s not Kenshi’s son in this universe or if he’s totally from a different timeline.
The release date for Takeda in Mortal Kombat 1 is officially confirmed to be July 23, 2024. And alongside him, there’ll be another MKX character joining the Kameo’s line: Ferra! Yes, that’s quite confusing, considering the fact that we had seen Ferra’s gameplay in Homelander’s reveal trailer.
Before we can release Ferra as our next Kameo Fighter, we need a bit more time to make sure she can assist to the best of her abilities.
That’s what the developers had to say about Ferra and why she’d be arriving late at Mortal Kombat 1 alongside Takeda on July 23. So Homelander was the only DLC character released without a Kameo by his side. And it’s also good to note that we still haven’t seen that Mortal Kombat 1995 movie Scorpion skin in the game. So, we wonder if it’s getting released with Takeda and Ferra. Who knows!
Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available to play on PS5,
