After joining the battle in Call of Duty, it looks like there’s more of The Boys‘ content to follow in Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack. The first DLC characters of the new MK game have been revealed with a teaser. We can see some other familiar faces standing beside Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1‘s DLC. Let’s dive into details to see which new characters will participate in the battle of realms in the new era that Liu Kang has created.

After rebooting the Mortal Kombat series and altering the Midway timeline, Mortal Kombat games have been an excellent host to many guest characters. Indeed the battle of the realms is only for the champions of each to participate. But well, how nice would it be if we saw Kratos facing off against Scorpion? The developers even put a cinematic and alternate ending inside the game for these characters too! And that’s how Mortal Kombat tournaments work.

Now after adding guests like the Spawn and X in MK11, It’s time to see the new stars of the next game. NetherRealm Studios have released a new teaser on the official Mortal Kombat channel. In it, we see the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack characters reveal. The list of the characters is as follows:

  • Ermac
  • Takeda
  • Quan Chi
  • Homelander
  • Peacekeeper
  • Omni-Man

The teaser begins with us seeing Omni-Man make an entrance, followed by Ermac, Piecemaker, Takeda, and Quan Chi. In the end, the U.S. flag cape of the Homelander slowly shows up, and the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack show is complete. But how do these characters affect the game’s story?

The guest characters probably have nothing to do with the story mode, like the previous games. But Ermac is someone who also appeared in the first MK Trilogy. The red ninja has always shown to be a powerful warrior throughout the series. Still, he died during the events of MK9. He may have a different role in the new era, or we’ll see him fight Sub-Zero and Jax once more.

Next is the Quan Chi, who will definitely show up sometime in this new era. The master sorcerer is involved in many of the key events of the Mortal Kombat story, such as turning Hanzo Hasashi into Scorpion and even teaming up with Shang Tsung to awaken the Dragon King with a deadly alliance.

But the last character, Takeda, is too young to show up in the Mortal Kombat 1 story. This character is indeed in the Kombat Pack 1 of this new Mortal Kombat game. But he’s the son of Kenshi, who was Cassandra, Jaquie, and Kung Jin’s teammate in Mortal Kombat X. Now, in the new timeline of Fire God Liu Kang, the events might go differently, and Takeda is born sooner. Or he’s just in the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack acting as a guest.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
