Mortal Kombat 1 has been in the pre-order process for a while, and it’s preparing to relay a beta process for the early buyers. We expected Mortal Kombat 12 after the 11th game, but Warner Bros. decided to go for a name change. A new era is starting for the Mortal Kombat series, with new characters, combos, and arenas. Though the wait is exciting enough, the developers have announced the pre-order beta date and characters for Mortal Kombat 1. Those who bought the game early will access the beta for no extra charge and try it before its public release.

What to Know About the Mortal Kombat 1 Pre-Order Beta Date and Characters

The good news was announced on the series’ co-creator Ed Boon’s Twitter account. The starting date is August 18th, and that’s meaningful for the franchise. The access is only for three days, ending on August 21. Three days should be enough for the fans to understand the new game meta and experience the game’s features. There will surely be a few bugs and glitches, so don’t pre-order the game if you expect a flawless experience in the beta.

As announced in another tweet on the game’s account, the beta will consist of:

Fighters: Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Li Mei

Kameos: Kano, Sonya, Jax, and Frost

Stages: The Teahouse & Johnny Cage’s Mansion.

This list could be disappointing for some but don’t worry. That’s only the beta list – the full game will contain much more. There will also be expansions in the future, and Mortal Kombat 1 will keep providing new content.

The game’s standard version is priced at $69.99. Pre-ordering is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Though the game is also for PC, the pre-order beta is only for consoles. We hope that the beta will offer a fun and satisfying experience.
