Mortal Kombat 11 dropped to much critical acclaim and heavy fanfare back in April earlier this year. While long-time fans have been happy with the game so far, there is still one addition to the game that they are still eagerly, anxiously anticipating: Nightwolf. The character who has been a staple of the Mortal Kombat franchise ever since the classic third entry of the game has already been confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11 and is expected to be included in the upcoming Kombat Pack DLC. Despite the fans pushing the topic every chance they get, the studio behind the latest entry of the gaming series has been relatively hush-hush on anything and everything that concerns Nightwolf’s inclusion. That is, until yesterday.

The game’s director, Ed Boon, sent out a tweet promising that this Thursday, they will be “sending The Wolf”. Whatever that means. Though this was enough to get some fans excited, most fans remained skeptical under the impression that this was just a tease to get us all riled up over nothing. Even today, that skepticism remained and Boon sent out another tweet, confirming that the plan is still on to release a gameplay trailer for Nightwolf on Thursday.

Another update:

MK11 players waiting to hear news about DLC characters. We know this timing isn't ideal and FWIW this isn't our choice. But thanks for hanging in there with us. Things are still looking good for the Nightwolf game-play trailer tomorrow. Stay tuned… pic.twitter.com/NVPrAiGqXd

Which brings us to earlier tonight, where the official Mortal Kombat account stepped in to release a new teaser trailer that not only produced a close-up on Nightwolf’s face but addressed the character by name, once again stating that we will be seeing the very first glimpse of gameplay for the character tomorrow.

On behalf of the rest of the die-hard community behind Mortal Kombat, we could not be more excited to get our first look of Nightwolf tomorrow, if the trailer is telling the truth, that is (for all of those who remain skeptical out there). Be sure to check in with The Nerd Stash again some time tomorrow to catch up with future updates on the matter from us and to keep up with the rest of our content in movies, TV, gaming, comics, and more!
