Chances are you’re hyped for at least one of the upcoming highly anticipated TV shows set to release in June 2024. With how varied these series are, it’s guaranteed that most people will have something to tune in for. Whether it’s a return to the worlds of Star Wars and Westeros, some explosive drama, action, or romance, there’s something for everyone. So let’s take a look at five TV shows you need to watch in June 2024.
The Acolyte
The only debuting show on this hotly anticipated list is The Acolyte. This Star Wars show is set in The High Republic era of the universe, one that hasn’t been seen in live-action before. With a stacked cast, The Acolyte stars Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Dafne Keen (Logan), and Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies). It sees the Jedi investigate a crime spree that leads them to a new powerful enemy. You can look forward to a lightwhip and a Wookie Jedi when The Acolyte has its two-episode premiere on Disney Plus on June 4, 2024, followed by a weekly release schedule.
The Boys Season 4
After Homelander’s (Antony Starr) stunning display of violence in the last season, The Boys Season 4 will see the new lineup of the Seven unleashed to do his bidding. Butcher (Karl Urban) and the rest of The Boys are the last lines of defense, attempting to get their hands on a virus that can kill “supes”. Along with Starr and Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, and Tomer Capone will all be returning. Season 4 of The Boys will have a three-episode premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 13, 2024, before switching to weekly releases.
Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2
Perhaps the most hotly anticipated TV show releasing in June is the second part of Bridgerton’s third season. If you’ve been waiting for it to drop and haven’t watched the first part yet, we won’t spoil it here. But, hopefully, the next four episodes manage to wrap up that cliffhanger with Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) nicely. Of course, because it’s the second part of an established season, most of the cast will stay the same with Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Luke Thompson, and Golda Rosheuve all returning. Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2 will be released on June 13, 2024.
House of the Dragon Season 2
Following the devastating events of the Season 1 finale, it’s the Greens against the Blacks in House of the Dragon‘s second season. Previously unseen characters and dragons will be introduced and as the Dance of the Dragons has begun, many of them will die. Emma D’Arcy returns as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, as does Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower. Much of the cast whose characters are still alive are returning for the second season as well. You can return to Westeros when House of the Dragon Season 2 premieres on Max on June 16, 2024.
The Bear Season 3
After a season of renovations, The Bear is finally open for business in The Bear’s third season. Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and the rest of the crew are back, with Carmy pushing everyone to their breaking point while battling his own demons. Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Liza Colón-Zayas, Lionel Boyce, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson, and Oliver Platt will all return. FX will release all episodes of The Bear Season 3 on Hulu on June 27, 2024. Let’s just hope that binge-watching it doesn’t make The Bear all the more stressful.
