The universe of Fallout is filled with Protectrons, Wastelanders, and more that can be incredibly harmful to you as a player. In the games, you can respawn from the last checkpoint or your last save if something happens to you. In the real world, if you die, you stay dead. Let’s dive into the five most brutal ways to die in the Fallout universe.

5. Feral Ghoul

Killing off Feral Ghouls is a pretty simple task in every Fallout game. However, can you actually imagine being face-to-face with one in the real world? Regular Ghouls can at least talk and potentially be reasoned with. Feral Ghouls, on the other hand, don’t have a single sliver of human emotion left in their body. They don’t care who they kill as long as they’re dead and out of the way. Not only are they dangerous, but they’re essentially dead and emit a ton of radiation that literally melts your body from the inside out. Being killed by one would surely results in you becoming a Ghoul as well. Do you think you would be able to stop yourself from becoming feral?

4. Deathclaw

If you thought the Deathclaw cutscenes in Fallout 4 were terrifying, imagine actually bumping into one. They seem to attack without any warning or reason and they can be incredibly fast. They almost look like prehistoric dinosaurs or large, bipedal lizards with claws, horns, and sharp teeth. I’d immediately give up the fight if I so much as heard that there was a Deathclaw in my vicinity. Don’t worry, I’ll just head into the middle of town with my hands up so they can get to me quicker.

3. Fisto

Fisto, (Fully Integrated Security Technetronic Officer) is only on this list because of what it would probably do with you AFTER your death. It’s essentially a robot prostitute that you can take to James Garrett as part of the Wang Dang Atomic Tango quest. While you’re alive, you can have him perform its sexual services on you for quite literally an hour of in-game time. These “services” are completely free until you have it working for Garrett, which then costs ten Caps. Considering that, I don’t think I would want my dead body alone in a room with Fisto.

2. Pickman

Art galleries are all fine and dandy until you find out that the curator is a deranged murderer who displays his kills. He generally only kills raiders who enter his home, but it has evolved into killing just about anyone who wanders in. You can get on his good side to avoid anything happening, but it’s still a terrifying prospect to come across him in the Wasteland. How do you think Pickman would pose your body after killing you and bringing you to his gallery?

Personally, radiation would be the most brutal way to die in the Fallout universe. Everything you encounter in the Wasteland is covered in years of radiation. You can see it in what’s become of Ghouls as they turn into Feral Ghouls. The radiation quite literally eats you from the inside out until you’re an unrecognizable husk of your former self. However, what’s even worse is that as a Ghoul, you’re still technically alive although you have no heat signature or blood coursing through your veins. That means that if you’re attacked, the possibility of you coming out alive yet scathed and mutilated is a complete possibility.
